623. Sespe Trail 2/15

I hiked here in mid January 2015. I parked my truck at the winter gate 2 1/2 miles from Dough Flat, started hiking a hour and half before sun rise. I hiked down to Alder Creek, and then to the Sespe. On the Sespe I hiked about 1/2 mile below Alder Creek, around a bend to reach this view. After turning around to return, I stepped of the bank into quick sand. My right leg went down to above my knee, and my left leg was in to above my calf. When I tried to pull my right leg out my left went deeper. I stop struggling and did not panic. I leaned forward on my left knee, and spread my hands on my hiking stick, and set them down to spread my weight. After wiggling my right foot back and forth for 5 minuets, my right leg finally came free. After that moving quickly I got out of there.
